Program Notes

Flowering Spring Trees is a collection of images depicting trees that produce flowers in spring time: Cherry Blossom, Dogwood, Crab Apple, and Bradford Pear. The pear tree (movement 4) is unique in that if it is planted, over time it will take over all the other trees in the area. The movement indicates this element musically as it takes over each of the other movements.
