City of Broken Poppies (2018)

Program Notes
The concept for City of Broken Poppies arose from an in-depth study of the poetry of Andrea Zanzotto, whose poetry explores the relationships between humanity and nature. He especially focuses on the destruction of nature by humanity, which is the main theme of this piece. It begins with pure nature. Humanity quickly begins to have an effect, and the piece evolves to something completely different from where it began.
